Campsite: The camp area is large enough to hold many tents with extra room left over. The property is fenced with barbwire, but not overtly, and is currently being upgraded to bougainvillea. A stream that originates from Mt. Meru flows along the eastern edge of the campsite. Our campground is planted with banana, orange, papaya. Surrounding the campground are corn, cassava, and banana fields. Top

Food & Supplies: Most food you might need to buy would be available walking distance from the campsite, at the Makumira junction or nearby. Locals would also like to sell food or prepare food for you. There are local bars and restaurants also within walking distance. Top

Local Transport: There are daily shuttles (dala dala) to Arusha (US$3) and Moshi (US$6). Streamside Camp can also arrange for rides at your request. Top

Directions: We are located in Kilala, a 10 minute drive (15km) east of Arusha Town at the Makumira Junction (about 25 minutes to the airport). From the junction go to the Meru side of the road, walk up 15m and make the first right onto a dirt road (there will be a kiosk 5m after the turn. We are roughly 700m from the main road. Start asking where is Jonathan Mbise's house and someone will take you there. Or follow sign posts. Top
