It's easy for me to start drooling when I think of some African Lodges and Bed & Breakfasts. Besides the glorious accommodations (for the little money you pay), the food is so good. All you can eat buffets, wines, meats, and fresh veggies and fruits...   A note on... » Prices    » Diets    » Typical day on safari

I am only going to list a few places here with links. I have been to all, all are excellent.

Accommodation:
Africa offers all types of accommodation, particularly ways not available elsewhere. Types of accommodation (in order of refinement) include camping (<$5/person), African guest house (<$5/person), youth hostel ($5-15/person), hotel ($30-90/couple), guest house (GH) ($15-40/couple), lodge ($150-250/couple), bed & breakfast ($40-110/couple), luxury tented safari ($400/person).

Cuisine:
Would you like your beer or G&T while a family of elephant snack nearby? Perhaps you would like to sample the fresh seafood of Zanzibar? Maybe the gourmet buffet, prepared by internationally trained chefs, after a full say of safari? If you would like to know a little about the food, click here.
